

For Silks Sake is for those who have a special passion for textiles and art and have a desire to combine these two to produce wonderful, unique results.
Based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, For Silks Sake offers classes and workshops in the art of silk painting, surface design and dyeing on silk and other natural fibres.
Working with various dyes, paints and techniques lends itself to many applications including artwork, clothing like scarves and sarongs, lampshades, cushions, jewellery and much more!
Everyone is welcome from beginners to experts alike and programmes are tailored specifically for each student. No experience is necessary for you to create fabulous, unique and meaningful works of art that reflect your own style!

For Silks Sake can supply a vaiety of silk, cotton and wool fabrics, white garment blanks, brushes, scarf hangers and more all available at the studio.
For Silks Sake is owned and run by Julie Edwards who combines both her 35 years’ teaching experience with her love of textile arts. She gains her inspiration from her love of silk fabrics, colour and design.
